Our Story

"The Sisters"

OUR UNIQUE STORY: We know how rare it is to have two therapists in the family. We both suffered head injuries and severe migraines in childhood, were frustrated and refused to give in until we had real answers in hand.

OUR UNINTENDED BEGINNING:  Therapists choose a career in the field of Massage Therapy for a variety of reasons. We both sustained  untreated and diagnosed concussive head injuries at age 5 which resulted in migraines by age 12. We witnessed our four athletic brothers repeatedly acquire injuries that went mostly unmanaged. Childhood injuries and migraines were not as well studied or understood back then by medical or holistic practitioners. During our pursuit of healing and meaningful pain relief for ourselves and family, we each found our way into the same Massage Therapy Program in Tampa, Florida. We were both taught by the same teacher, our beloved Ms. Harrison.

OUR UNRESOLVED JOURNEY:  We tried everything to resolve our migraines; family practice, dentistry, neurology, bodywork therapies, PKP, chiropractic, supplements, medications, fitness, exercise (20 minutes of cardio = 3-day migraines… no thank you!). No one could locate the cause of our migraines or significantly resolve them. Racking up a few more slips and falls, we added head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes… to the injury roster. We’ve always considered our life a living anatomy lesson. After we both suffered for years, we decided to track the sequential onset patterns, pain severities and durations.

OUR UNCONVENTIONAL APPROACH:  Rarely can you cry out to a family member about your debilitating pain, crawl over to their massage table and contemplate “Would a knife in my head feel better than this?” while they work through the tissues and tears. We became increasing annoyed and angry, as therapists and migraine sufferers, that we couldn’t deactivate the triggers for more than a few hours to days. For the last decade, we gained experience and knowledge in a multitude of therapeutic and osteopathic bodywork techniques from experts in their modalities. We learned to recognize disruptions of the nervous system through, neuroscience, brain health, inflammation, nutrition, and the somato-emotional mind-body connections. Like a signature, our combination of palpatory, assessment and therapeutic skills are unique and client-approved.

OUR UNCONDITIONAL BELIEF:  The body is designed to heal itself. It’s called “homeostasis”. When the body runs out of capacity to do so, a little pressure-match advanced massage therapy can go a long way to unraveling dense, knots and muscle aches. We know one thing for sure.  There are a limited number of layers to work through for any given injury. We can make significant results in soft tissue recovery when we integrate the nervous and fascial layers with our treatment protocols.  We discovered the origins for the MOST painful, stubborn tension patterns were traced back to long-forgotten childhood injuries that were almost always dismissed as “minor” and “inconsequential”.

OUR UNMATCHED RESULT:  By tracking injuries and compensations through soft tissue, boney landmarks, fascial layers, musculature and nervous system, we began developing a sequential, repeatable and predictable treatment protocol. We sifted through what worked and what didn’t. We consolidated our decades of training and clinical experience into an Advanced Massage Therapy, a medical massage modality that we passionately call “Neural Cranial Therapy”.   Our proprietary massage therapy techniques cut through the noise,  identify where and why the body is stuck in pain-generating cycles and work methodically to release and relieve soft tissue restrictions.

With the exception of once in a blue moon, the therapy methods we offer have helped us finally live free of the once debilitating migraines we used to experience. We want to help you heal from the chronic pains ailing you.
