Our Story
"The Sisters"
Meet The Lybbert Sisters
OUR UNIQUE STORY: We know how rare it is to have two therapists in the family. Like most kids, we had our sports injuries and growing pains in childhood. We often opted to sit in the stands and cheer on our four athletic siblings, which sometimes meant watching them take some pretty crazy falls during games. We were determined to learn how to help and make a meaningful difference for their recovery. In doing so, we discovered we felt at home in the field of therapeutic bodywork and decided to pursue careers in the holistic care of somatic and physiological therapies.
OUR UNINTENDED BEGINNING: Therapists choose a career in the field of Massage Therapy for a variety of reasons. We feel blessed to apply an engineering mindset to the recovery and healthy maintenance of the human body. Childhood injuries and pains to this day are not as well studied or given a lot of attention by medical or holistic practitioners. While many injuries heal without incident, thanks to childhood resilience, we spend the majority of our time addressing the few that persist into adulthood and become the underlying cause of more chronic tension and pain. During our pursuit for meaningful education and impactful bodywork modalities, we each found our way into the same Massage Therapy Program in Tampa, Florida. We were both taught by the same teacher, our beloved Ms. Harrison.
OUR UNQUENCHABLE JOURNEY: We love the opportunities available in the field of therapeutic bodywork today. Advancements in fascial release, nervous system function and regulation, nutrition, somatic and emotional release therapeutic work and many more, have helped us create our own, proprietary bodywork methods.
OUR UNCONVENTIONAL APPROACH: For the last decade, we gained experience and knowledge in a multitude of therapeutic and osteopathic bodywork techniques from experts in their modalities. We learned to recognize disruptions of the nervous system through, neuroscience, brain health, inflammation, nutrition, and the somato-emotional mind-body connections. Like a signature, our combination of palpatory, assessment and therapeutic skills are unique and client-approved.
OUR UNCONDITIONAL BELIEF: The body is designed to heal itself. It’s called “homeostasis”. When the body runs out of capacity to do so, a little pressure-match advanced massage therapy can go a long way to unraveling dense, knots and muscle aches. We know one thing for sure. There are a limited number of layers to work through for any given injury. We can make significant results in soft tissue recovery when we integrate the nervous and fascial layers with our treatment protocols. We discovered the origins for the MOST painful, stubborn tension patterns were traced back to long-forgotten childhood injuries that were almost always dismissed as “minor” and “inconsequential”.
OUR UNMATCHED RESULT: By tracking injuries and compensations through soft tissue, boney landmarks, fascial layers, musculature and nervous system, we began developing a sequential, repeatable and predictable treatment protocol. We sifted through what worked and what didn’t. We consolidated our decades of training and clinical experience into an Advanced Massage Therapy, a medical massage modality that we passionately call “Neural Cranial Therapy”. Our proprietary massage therapy techniques cut through the noise, identify where and why the body is stuck in pain-generating cycles and work methodically to release and relieve soft tissue restrictions.
The therapy methods we offer have helped us live without reminders of our past experiences. We want to help you break free from the chronic pains ailing you, too.
